My new roommates

Okay, they aren't nearly as cool as Taylor and Honie, and they don't make me laugh nearly as much, but they are pretty damn adorable.

Meet Dargan!!!!!!
We found this little guy at the White River Humane Society, and we fell in love with him. The lady there handed him to me, and he just cuddled up in my neck. I looked at Jill and said, "This guy's coming home with us." And the lady said, "Oh wait, take a look at his sister."

Meet Adelpha!!!!!!!

So we took them both. It took a while to figure their names out, but Dargan is Irish for "black-haired" and Adelpha is Greek for "beloved sister" and I think they sound cute together. They've been wrestling and chasing me and Jill and the millions of bugs that live in our basement, so we're having a blast. A couple of you know, I was supposed to go to Chicago this weekend to hang out with Aaron and Honie and Casey, but my loan for this semester, for some reason, got cancelled, so I didn't have the money to get up there, which is really a damn shame. However, I'll be up to visit the Chicago kids a couple times, I'm sure, and definitely that first weekend in March, when Taylor and Notorious (and Honie???) are flying in. If not, well, I'll just have to come to New York. :) I hope everyone had an AMAZING New Year's Eve.

And Ryan. I'm sure the local Posey County Police Department (or the PoCo PD, as we call 'em) would tremble at the amazing power of your mustache. I'll mail you a soybean when they're in season :)

It's strange...

The things that make me miss you guys. I was out at a party toinght, and when I left, I decided to take the long way, which goes down several gravel roads with no names...and it was dark, and a little bit rainy, and as I was driving through the trees, listening to sad songs in my car, I was struck with a sudden longing for Dublin and all of you. It's weird now, to hear Taylor's voice on the phone, or look at pictures of Ryan...it's like it was all a dream, sometimes. I almost don't believe we would recognize each other, even now, just after a couple weeks. It's so...wrong, I guess, not to see you guys every day. And I suppose in time I'll get used to it, we all will, but there's a part of me that doesn't want to. I sort of like the reminder that something is missing in my life when we're not together.

I guess this is sort of a sad post, but I don't feel sad. Just. Nostalgic, I suppose. I love you all.

It's a Christmas Mystery....

Happy Christmas, everyone! I hope you all had great and glorious days with lots of family, food, and presents. I was fortunate enough to have the Christmas story told to me by Isabelle, who is a very adorable four-year-old, so I thought I'd share her version with you.

Mary and Joseph were walking. Well. Joseph was walking, but Mary was riding the donkey. When they got to the hotel, there wasn't any room, so they had to sleep in the barn. With the horses...and the sheep...and the dogs. And then Mary had baby Jesus. And there was a BIIIIIIIG star that was really bright in the sky and the kings saw it and they came to see baby Jesus. And do you want to know what they brought? They brought gold...rice...and oatmeal.

So there you have it. Clearly frankincense and myrrh are out this year. Rice and oatmeal are much better gifts.

So, I, um...got Joyce's Book of the Dark. Yeah. I asked for it. But I'm really excited about it. That, and the kazoo that was in my stocking. My father is crazy.

It just rained all day here, no snow, and I've been going since 8 this morning, cooking, cleaning, presenting....all that fun stuff. I'm ready to just be in my pjs and listen to music and fall asleep quietly in my room.

(Oh, so the other night, I, along with another guy, finished off two fifths of whiskey in about 2 hours. Needless to say I don't remember much of the evening, but I apparently had a pretty ridiculous Irish accent going on)

And Ryan. Every time I see Ryano, I think of that old cartoon, with Lion-o and Cheetara. But I can't for the life of me think of the name of it. Thundercats, maybe? That seems to be something different.

I miss all of you a lot today, sleep well!

The Death of a Crazy Professor

No, O'Connor didn't get hit by a bus.

But I did get a hair cut, and a pretty severe one too. Nine inches off. Which means the front of my hair hits my nose. But I think it's pretty cute. And I' m getting it colored too, next Friday. Reinventing myself for next semester. I'll post a pic when I have time. Love you all :) Howie, safe trip, Ryan, have fun at the bball game, Honie and OC, keep me posted on the trip progress. Aaron...make a post, man. Where are you?

I wanna know, is there anyone on the floor?

Apparently whiskey isn't as good for the teeth as previously thought, because I also had a cavity today. Although when they fill mine next week, I will use the proffered drugs.

Dano, I'm jealous of you and your foot and half of snow; it's just cold as freakin' balls here, which totally isn't worth it if it isn't going to snow. And also of that steak...sounds tasty. Welcome to the world of blogging. It can get a little addicting, I'm not gonna lie.

Taylor. Your bed cracks me up. That's way worse than the Dublin bed, I think. But your room is pretty. I'm going out sometime this week to take pics of Posey County to show you guys, because I know they'll make you smile. I saw it was 62 in Jacksonville today...it's 23 here...and it was snowing in NY, lucky bastards.

My mother has already banned me from calling her a goutish fuck. She, for some reason, does not appreciate it. Dad thinks it's hilarious.

I played the Belgian CD for David and Adi, and they laughed like maniacs. But it's still better with all of us girls dancing around the living room to On The Floor.

Casey, about our spat over Taylor...I have only this to say:
"She's an easy lover, she'll get a hold on you, believe it."
I cannot be held responsible for that.

Apparently, I have to shower every day here, so I'm off to do that and then go to little sister's band concert, and then out TO ORDER MY FIRST LEGAL BEER! :) Am very excited, although I'm sure it won't be nearly as good as anything I had this semester.

Happy Louisiana Purchase Day!!!!!

Love you guys.
